About Teignmouth Art Society
Teignmouth Art Society was founded in 1948 with the aim of encouraging art in the Teignmouth area, especially now being involved in the Teignmouth Arts Quarter. The society is a non-profit making organisation with around 160 members, working in a variety of media. We welcome anyone interested in art, and membership is open to all on the payment of an annual subscription.
Demonstrations by professional artists in the Teignmouth Heritage Centre and workshops run by more experienced members in TAAG are held on alternate weeks. During the summer we meet in various locations for Outdoor Sketching Days. There are several social events such as the Spring Social and the Christmas lunch. Guests are always welcome at any meeting.
We hold three Exhibitions a year, the Spring and Summer being held in the Victoria Hall in Shaldon and the Christmas one in Teignmouth in TAAG. A miniature competition is held in the Spring and awards are presented at the Summer Exhibition.
Our website is regularly updated and a newsletter informs members of forthcoming events.
