Summer Exhibition

TAS Summer exhibition 2014

Teignmouth Art Society  held the members preview of its Summer exhibition along with its  trophy presentation   on the 13 August at the Victoria Hall, Shaldon.  The Mayor of Teignmouth, Cllr David Matthews presented the winners with their  trophies and commented on the quality and diversity of the work displayed. With over 250 pieces of art work on display the quality improves  year on year.  The winners included  Jill Harrison with best overall entry and best landscape, Yusaf Khan for best abstract in pastel entitled ‘ Energy’ , Devonian Domestic : Digital Photograph by Anna Grayson being the winner of the most innovative work. Chris Pitman won the presidents choice with his work in oils ‘ Signs of Autumn’ , best marine painting was taken by Caroline Hayes (oodey ) for her water colour work ‘ Yachts’, Clare Jenkinson won best award for flowers with her work ‘ Blue Sky Magnolia’, and  the piece entitled ‘ The Actress’ by Barbara Chavasses  won best  three dimensional sculpture. A number of members were also commended for their work by the judges.
